Born in Jasper, Florida on December 24, 1938, to the late James Winifred and Mary Ruby McCard Grimsley, Mr. Grimsley's main vocation was a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a longtime member of the Fort Valley, GA congregation. He dedicated 54 years of his life to ministering, witnessing, volunteer work, and disaster relief. He farmed, was an auto mechanic, worked at Robins Air Force Base, and operated a Gulf station in Byron, GA, where he trained many young men to be auto mechanics. Openhanded and generous, he had a great influence on everyone blessed enough to know him. His love for everyone was apparent when he stated that he "never met anyone he didn't love".
Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years, Mary Jane Gegogeine Grimsley; their sons, Ray Grimsley (Irene) and Bob Grimsley (Laura); grandson, Jonathan Grimsley (Sonia); great granddaughter, Juliet Morales Grimsley; a sister, Darlene Findley; and numerous family members and friends.
Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.

Cochran Field holds many wonderful years for those of us who grew up there. Though we are many years past those memories now they seem like yesterday. Look forward to seeing Bobby, a brother in a Better world.

Yesterday
My heart is saddened by the loss of one of the best friends of my youth. Although it´s been years since I saw him, I´ll always appreciate his friendship. He taught me more than I realized at the time even though we mostly just had good times together. He and I also worked together on B52´s and C130´s at RAFB. Rest in peace my old friend. Doyle Stewart. P.S. We affectionately called him Bird Dog.
