Bobby Neal, 82, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his home. He was born December 8, 1943, in Shoffner, Arkansas, to the late Robert and Nina Hankins. Bobby grew up in Newport and later graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in business finance. He began his banking career after college, working in several communities including Camden and Pine Bluff, before settling in Jonesboro in 2000. He spent many years in the banking industry and retired from Regions Bank.
Bobby attended Nettleton Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, spending time at deer camp with friends, and staying connected with his high school classmates. He was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and ASU Red Wolves supporter.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his spouse, Phyllis Hankins; two brothers, Zane Hankins and Charles Hankins; and two sisters, Lenola “Toni” Poff and Kathleen Worthen.
Survivors include his daughter, Heather Hankins of Jonesboro; two sisters-in-law, Judith Douglas of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Linda Green of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews: Mitzi Hargan and Phillip Poff, both of Desha, Arkansas; Belinda Hankins and Andrea Glenn, both of Cabot; Holly Merrill of Frisco, Texas; Lila Phillips of El Dorado, Arkansas, Meredith (Justin) Cook of Jonesboro, Ronnie (Billie) Worthen of Shreveport, Louisiana and Charley Hankins of El Dorado, Arkansas.
