Brad Singleton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory on Jan. 20, 2026.
Paul Bradford "Brad" Singleton Sr, 65, passed away on January 16, 2026 at Brookwood Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Donna King officiating. The family will visit with guests immediately following the service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul Singleton Jr and Webbie Bishop Singleton; and his grandparents, John Paul Singleton Sr and Nell Singleton.
Survivors include his sons, Paul Bradford Singleton Sr of Denver, Colorado and Jackson Rollins Singleton (Anna) of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Bonnie Singleton Nicosia of Birmingham, Alabama; and brother, James "Brian" Singleton (Debbie) of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Born on May 18, 1960 as Paul Bradford Singleton or "Brad" as most know him. His family moved around frequently when he was a baby, but settled in Mountain Brook, Alabama while his father worked for Southern Bell (Bellsouth). Brad grew up attending Crestline Elementary and Mtn Brook Jr High. He and his family were members of Mount Brook Baptist. Brad moved to Tuscaloosa his Junior year of HS where he graduated from Central HS. From there, Brad attended the University of Alabama from 1978-1979 where he witnessed The Crimson Tide win two national championships in his two years there which he was proud about as he was a die-hard Alabama fan. After a two year stint at the U of A, Brad moved to the Gulf where he became a Roustabout on an offshore oil rig from 1980-1986 where some would say he thrived. He eventually moved home after the loss of his father to preserve his time with family. Brad married in 1989 to Amy Binion in Birmingham where he started a family, having two sons, Paul & Jackson whom he loved deeply. Brad and Amy raised their family in the Oak Mountain area where they attended Asbury UMC. Brad enjoyed coaching his sons sports teams and taking them hunting & fishing whenever he could. Soon after his separation in 2006 Brad returned to the offshore life where he became a certified offshore crane operator, working for Maersk and many other offshore contractors that sent him to over 40+ countries throughout east Africa, central Asia, and southeast Asia. Brad loved to travel and explore other cultures. He did this until an unplanned retirement in 2019 that was forced from his diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease which had a root cause in the stroke that took his life. Brad loved Christ, his friends, and his family. He was renowned for his storytelling abilities and held high entertainment value at any function he attended.
