Bradley "Brad" Scott Gary, 61, of Neoga, IL. Beloved husband of Christy for 36 and a half years; loving father of Clark (Michelle) Gary and Jacob (Catherine "Cat") Gary; cherished grandfather of Alden Gary; dear son of Barbara and James Gary; son in law of Gene and Joan Clark; brother of Jeff (Colleen) Gary and David (Nancy) Gary; brother in law of Beth Ann (Tom) Hassler, Chad (Amy) Clark; uncle of Emily (Brandon) Shands, Kati (Chris) Frederking, Adam Hassler, Abby (Caleb) Engel, Jackson (Kira) Clark, Ellie Clark, Maggie Clark, Annie Clark, and Jaclyn, Kevin, Scott and Skylar Gary; great uncle of Austin and Libby Shands, Mina, Leo and Elwood Frederking, Mariam, Gideon, Esther and Silas Engel; bonus dad to Rebecca "Becca" (William) Wright, Ana Troester and Erwin Lane; cherished pappy of Wilson and Delilah "Lilah" Wright.
Brad was a man whose life was defined by his devotion to God, his deep love for family and friends, his tireless work ethic, and his dedication to his career. His laughter could fill an entire room and was wonderfully contagious. Brad had a rare gift for laughing at himself, often with more joy than anyone else in the room.
He was one of the most caring, kind, and generous people you could ever meet. If you needed something done, or if he thought a certain tool might make your life easier. He would quietly and happily make it happen. Making others feel valued and helping them solve problems were among his greatest gifts.
Brad was happiest when he was simply enjoying the moment with the people he loved. He touched countless lives in countless ways. In recent years, his "happy place" was the family's house on the lake, where hosting friends and family became a way for him to express his love.
Some of Brad's favorite pastimes included golfing, boating, playing cards, and indulging in sweets, especially ice cream. We take comfort in knowing he is now with Jesus, even as we struggle with the deep sadness of losing him. Our hope rests in the promise that we will see him again.
The Gary family wishes to share that wearing black is not necessary. We know Brad would have loved to see a room filled with color, joy, and warmth as we honor a life so well lived.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Transplant Foundation in Brad's honor.
