Brandon Glenn "Brad" Suggs, was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 9, 2024, at the age of 47, after a 5-year battle of metastatic prostate cancer, surrounded by his loving family at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern, NC. Brandon was born on January 13, 1977, to Glenn and Janice (Pollock) Suggs, both of Maysville, NC. He was a 1995 graduate of White Oak High School and obtained his associate's degree in business at Coastal Community. He married his loving wife, Chastity (Freeman) August 14, 1999, and had two beautiful children, Ethan Ray and Abigail Elisabeth. Brandon was always a motivated, driven, hardworking person that started at a young age. From cropping tobacco fields, summers on his father's fishing boat, working at Bud's Repair Shop building trailers and pig cookers up White Oak River, loading trucks for UPS, climbing poles and project planning for JOEMC and ended his work career as Landscaping Superintendent "Boss Man" at M&W Land Improvement. Taking after his late grandfather, Bud, he never let the grass grow under his feet; "tighten up" he'd say. Even in his last days he continued to push through his ailments and tackle the goals in his little notebook. Brandon's strength and determination were evident in every aspect of his life to include raising their children. He had a love for Jesus and his church family especially when he served as a Sunday school teacher at Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church. Brandon was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, gardening, "piddling" in the shop fabricating and enjoyed a good basketball game, Go HEELS! Above all things of this world, he loved his family the most. Brandon's legacy is one of resilience and determination-a testament to never giving up, no matter the odds. His spirit will continue to inspire his loved ones and all those who knew him. While Brandon will be deeply missed by all who knew him, he would want everyone to know that he did not give up his fight, but rather made the courageous decision it was time to go HOME to meet his Lord and Savior who promised to make him whole again, give him eternal life and fulfill the promises God have given. Brandon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert "Bud" and Inez Pollock and Thelma "Nanny" Suggs, and aunt, Vicki Pollock. Survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Chastity (Freeman); children, Ethan and Abigail of the home; parents, Glenn and Janice Suggs; sister, Traci (Chris) Brinkley; parents-in-law, Lennis and Joy Freeman; brother-in-law, Eric "Reggie" Freeman; nephews, Colebrin and Clayton Brinkley; uncles, Richard (Sheila) and Jeff; aunt, Lee (Jeff) and many cousins.
A Celebration of Brandon's Life will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday August 12, 2024, at Emmanuel FWB Church, 1694 Halltown Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28546. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the church.
Interment will follow at "Prime Time" in the White Oak Memorial Gardens, 2470 White Oak River Road Maysville, NC 28555.

I will always remember Brandon in my hi teens Sunday school class ; and the crazy trip our class took to the mountains; Brandon always; even as a teen had a smile and always respectful; and that carried into his adulthood; I am sad but heaven has gotten a little sweeter. My condolences to the Sugges and Freeman family's; your brother in Christ Luther Parker

He was my brothers best friend in middle/high school. I remember once finding them in the yard burying each other in mud. I saw my brother on the ground leaning over and talking to the ground. I´m thinking to myself- what in the world is he doing? He had buried Brad in the mud and Brad was breathing through a straw. It´s a great memory and I think about that from time to time and it makes me smile. Brad is such a great person. Prayers and love to your family.
