Breann Ray Hood, 27, after a courageous battle with osteosarcoma, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 27, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Jennifer Ray Barton and the late James Praylo Hood Jr.
Bree attended Woodmont High School and graduated in 2017 and was a proud member of the FFA. Bree went on to become a dental assistant and loved her work.
She was a bright light everywhere she went, with a big heart that was always full of kindness, warmth, and a caring spirit.
Bree enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed everything in life from skydiving, waterfall chasing, camping, boating on the lake, and attending church just to name a few of her passions.
After being diagnosed with osteosarcoma in October 2022, Bree faced her journey with strength, grace, never losing her caring and fighting spirit.
In addition to her mother, left to cherish her memory are her father, Chad Martin; fiance, Logan Fowler; brother, Jimmy Hood; grandparents, Roger and Linda Martin; grandmother, Barbara Barton; uncles, Marcus Barton (Brandi), Joe Barton, Dallas Barton, Todd Martin, and Matt Martin; aunts, Amy Barton, Bobbie Brannon (Robert), Barbara Hood (Jeremy Hill), Alisha Hood; nieces, Maci Dotson, Zoey Hood; and cousin, Kayla Stroud (Ben).
She was reunited in heaven with her brothers, Charlie Hood and Chad Martin, Jr.; her maternal grandfather, Marcus Barton; and paternal grandparents, Virginia Frye and James Praylo Hood, Sr.
A Memorial service to celebrate Breann's life will be held on Thursday, April 03, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by a time of visitation.
Flowers will be accepted.
All of her family and friends will cherish the memories that we shared with her. Her legacy of love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
