Brenda Cluster (AKA Ninja Grandma) of Warren, Utah, slipped away peacefully at home on April 29th, 2023 in the arms of her loving daughter, and with her husband by her side. Brenda's passing has been made easier knowing she was welcomed through the veil by her loved ones, and the words "Well done thy good and faithful servant". She fought a valiant fight with Lewy Body Dementia, showing grace and strength every step of the way.
Brenda was born in Eugene, Oregon on the 8th of August, 1947 to Wayne and Mary Boden. She was a loving eldest sister to her siblings, Myra and Randy. Brenda married the love of her life, George Michael Cluster, on April 2nd, 1966 in Lake Hughes, California. Brenda and George's marriage was a true love story and the foundation upon which they built their family. Their union was blessed with three children: Michael Wayne, Jeremy Loren, and Jennifer Elizabeth. On May 3rd, 1982, they were converted and baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. George and Brenda were sealed along with their children for time and all eternity in the Ogden Utah Temple on May 12th, 1983. Brenda received her associate's degree from Weber State University and worked for National Semi Conductor and American Nutrition. She loved animals, and when she retired from the workforce, she adopted her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Jasper. They were inseparable and best buddies for many years.
Brenda had an amazing appreciation for gardening, outdoor adventures, baking, canning, quilting, rollerblading, iFly, kayaking, sewing, paddle boarding, and geo-caching. Most importantly, she fiercely loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was their biggest cheerleader at all their activities and events. Brenda volunteered and loved working at the 2002 Winter Olympics. She served three missions with her Eternal Companion for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They included the Ogden Intercity Mission, the South Africa Durban Mission, and the Ogden Family History Library Mission. She also enjoyed serving in the Ogden Temple Cafeteria and was famous for her amazing cinnamon rolls. She also received a lot of joy as a Temple ordinance worker. She had many church callings throughout her life, but serving as Young Women's President was dearest to her heart.
Brenda is survived by her husband and sweetheart, George. Her valiant sons: Michael (Twyla) Cluster of Ogden, Jeremy (April) Cluster, and her beautiful daughter, Jennifer (Anthony) Ortega of Apple Valley, UT. Her pride and joy grandchildren: Braden (Kaitlin), Austin (Marcia), Brycen (Jasmine), Ivy (John), Boden, Dylan(preceded her in death), Dani, Jordan (Kenzie), Katherine, George, Alex, Thomas, and Andrew. Her beloved great-grandchildren: Lily, Skylie, Kellan, Graysen, Primrose, Owen, and Ezra.
Brenda's example and testimony of Christ-like love will live on through the legacy of her treasured family. We will always love you sweetheart, mom, and ninja grandma. We will miss you for the rest of our mortal lives. God be with you till we meet again.
