Brenda Gayle Ledford, 76 years of age, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at home after a long battle with cancer.
Brenda was born on September 27th, 1948, in Blairsville, Georgia, to the late Ezra and Juanita Ledford. She was the fourth of six children, one preceding her in death (Jimmy Ledford).
Brenda lived a life marked by compassion, faith, and creativity. Her career in home healthcare was more than a profession - it was a calling. She touched the lives of many patients who found comfort in her care and kindness. That same loving spirit extended to her family and friends, who were often recipients of her tireless support and encouragement.
A woman of many talents, Brenda had a gift for crocheting, cooking, and art. Everything she put her hands to reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Her deep faith in the Lord sustained her throughout her life and especially during her illness. Brenda was known for uplifting fellow cancer patients, offering words of faith and hope even as she faced her own struggles. Healthcare workers often expressed gratitude for the light she brought during dark moments. Her nephew, Jack Teague, shared, "Watching her fight cancer taught me a lesson in courage--a lesson I reminded her of until the day she passed."
Brenda was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving siblings: sister Patricia Teague of Fayetteville, GA; brothers Don Ledford and Keith Ledford of Blairsville, GA, and Gary Ledford of Forest Park, GA. She was a beloved aunt to 16 nieces and nephews who will remember her with deep love and admiration.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home of Blairsville, GA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home of Blairsville, GA, with Rev. Tony Black and Rev. Dr. Warren Smith officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Nathan Ledford, Lary Turner, George Dockery, and Paul Puett, Jr.
