Brenda Post

Brenda Wood Post, 69, of Zebulon, NC, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on November 11, 2025. She was born October 17, 1956, in Wallace, NC, to the late Joseph Daniel Wood and Billie Dove Hopkins Wood.

For 30 years, Brenda proudly served as a pediatric registered nurse at WakeMed. Caring for children was not just her profession, but her calling.

She was a passionate NASCAR fan, loved lighthouses, and had a special fondness for chickens-especially the rooster that often followed her around the yard. She adored gospel music and church hymnals, able to sing every word without ever needing to look at the page.

In her younger years, Brenda earned a black belt in Taekwondo. She was strong-willed, determined, and full of love. Brenda especially enjoyed time spent with her son, Matt, boating and jetskiing.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, William "Tom" Post, and her son, Matt Cox. She is preceded in death by her sister, Valerie Dillard.
