Brett Richard Canaday age 66, of Snellville, GA., passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ruth Canaday; his brother, Raymond Canaday; his wife and mother of his children, Susan Wells Canaday; and his father-in-law, Wayne Wilber Wells, whom he considered a second father.
Brett is survived by his devoted wife, Rita Parks Canaday; his beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and John Hayes, Kristin and Steve Little, and Jessica and Jeff Bennett; and his treasured grandchildren, Brooklyn McKenna, Colton Parker, and Madison Ayn; he is also survived by his brother, Jim Canaday; nieces and nephews, Heather Miller, Tanya Jarvis, and Kenny Canaday; along with extended family and dear friends.
Brett dedicated 30 years of his career to Emerson, where he was highly respected by colleagues and customers alike before retiring in 2020, later to spend his retirement life with his wife, family and friends on Lake Jackson. He had a deep love for travel, unique experiences, exquisite dining, and always enjoying a great glass of fine wine. Brett never met a stranger and took great joy in sharing meals and conversation with others. He was a pillar to the community.
Brett will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A Celebration of Life for Brett will be on April 12, 2025, at their home on Jackson Lake from 2pm-5pm. Please arrive by 3:00pm for service given by Pastor Ken Sirmans plus any family/friends that may want to share heartfelt memories. 8950 Jackson Lake Road, Monticello, GA 31064.
