Larence Brett Mason, age 39, passed away April 24, 2025 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. Brett was born on October 18, 1985 to Reese and Kay Mason. His father, Reese, preceded him in death.
Brett is survived by his daughter, Ona Kay and her sister Mia, his mother, Kay Mason, brother, Clint Mason (Leigh), nephews, Gabe, Finn and Brock Mason, great nephew, Owen Mason, great niece, Ella Mason, along with aunts, uncles and cousins near and far.
Brett attended school at Horace Mann and Sequiota Elementary, Hickory Hills Junior High and Glendale High School. During these years he developed life long friendships that stood the test of time.
Whether they were building legos, playing Dance Dance Revolution, Pokeman, planting a sunflower garden or just hanging out, Brett's time spent with Ona and Mia was always his special time.
There are many, but three of the best talents Brett possessed were playing video games, drawing beautiful artwork and creating unique projects through woodworking. He could fix almost anything with or without a YouTube video.
Through the years Brett will be remembered for many reasons, but the stand out story that will be told repeatedly is how his loyalty always went above and beyond anyone's expectations. Be it family or friends, daylight or the wee hours of the morning, if you needed anything he would always show up for you.
Brett loved his family, close friends and his cat Grimmjow more than words can express.
Brett leaves this world with honor and as a hero for helping save the lives of so many through the donor program of Mid-America Transplant.
Everyone will be welcome to join us for Brett's Celebration of Life that will be held on a date and place yet to be determined.

As difficult as this time is,
May you find comfort in knowing that your love one will always be with you

There are days when a sorrow mist rests in the air
Memories are recalled; the joy of those we care.
Bring now to fore once again the smile, the touch
Of one their joy; of one who was loved so much.
