Brett Schulz Obituary

Visit the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. - Wausau East website to view the full obituary.

Brett Thomas Schulz, age 56, passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 8, 1968, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Nancy (Wilson) Bartosch, Rothschild and the late Thomas Schulz. Brett moved to central Wisconsin with his family in 1976 and grew up in the D.C. Everest community, graduating from D.C. Everest High School, a place that would remain an anchor in his life.

After high school, his pursuit of education landed him at Mount Senario College where he dual Majored in Kinesiology and Sports & Recreation Management as well as putting time in on both the football and baseball teams. It was here he became known as “Truck”. His passion for athletics and helping others led him to a career as an athletic trainer at Sport & Spine. It was there that he met the love of his life, Shelly. The two were married on September 1, 2001, at St. Mark’s Parish, beginning a marriage rooted in partnership, laughter and devotion.

Brett later pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by starting his own business, Industrial Revolution, which reflected his work ethic, creativity and determination.

He remained deeply involved in D.C. Everest athletics, dedicating countless hours to the programs and community he cherished. Whether mentoring athletes, volunteering, or simply lending a hand wherever needed, his presence made a lasting impact on students, coaches and families alike.

Above all, Brett was a proud father of three daughters, who were the absolute center of his world. He showed up for them in every way – cheering from the sidelines, celebrating every milestone, and offering unwavering support.

Brett will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, genuine compassion, and the way he made people feel seen and supported. His legacy lives on in his family, the community he served and the many lives he touched. Through Brett’s selfless giving of organ donation he was able to donate his heart, liver and kidneys, saving three lives.

Survivors include his wife, Shelly, Ringle, his daughters, Brittany (Cody), Mosinee and Katie and Piper, both of Ringle, his mother, Nancy (Denny) Bartosch, Rothschild, his step mother, Linda Schulz, Rib Mountain and his siblings, Becky Brown, Weston and Brent (Kristen) Schulz, Neenah. Brett is further survived by his step siblings, Mike (Misti) Bartosch and Cheryl (Jerry) Melvin, Brian Wulk, Erica (Mike) Danneker and Aaron (Christi) Wulk and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Weston. The Rev. Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial scholarship fund is being established in honor of Brett. Details will be available in the next few days.
