Brian John Bloomfield

It's with a heavy heart we mourn the peaceful passing of Brian "Breen" Bloomfield, surrounded by his family on June 23rd, husband of Linda nee Thebarge. Beloved son of Russell & Elaine Bloomfield. Cherished brother of Gary (Carolyn), Gail (Jim), Paul (Sue) and predeceased by his sister Linda. He will be dearly missed by his children Joshua (Chelsea), James, Rebekah, his dog Coda, the Thebarge family and his countless nieces and nephews. His grandchildren Poppy, Pennylane and Roman all miss their "Big Dada".
President of Artistic Cake Design, Brian was Ottawa's "cake boss" for over 40yrs. He touched countless weddings and occasions across the city, carrying the cake decorating legacy from his father, Russel, now inherited by Brian's son, James. Brian is remembered for his big laugh, his outfits, his unique sense of humour and his endless rhymes and quotes. His big, generous and joyous spirit was matched only by his hard work and his strength in the face of seemingly unrelenting adversity.
Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave., on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1-3pm. Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3pm. Reception to follow.
