Brian A. Buck, Sr. passed away unexpectedly at home on April 22, 2025. He was born in Sanford, Maine, the fifth child of six to parents Mattie and Jack Buck, Sr. The family moved to Chapman when he was young, and he worked on the potato farm with his father and brothers.
He attended school in Mapleton and was a member of the Maine Army National Guard. He worked with Buck Construction for most of his career. He was a talented brick and concrete mason, carpenter, and steel building constructor. He was a hard worker and always said if you are going to do something, then do it right. If someone said they can't do that, he told them "they took can't out of the dictionary." He enjoyed gardening and working on his tractor with his faithful cat Ben by his side. He liked going to the harness races, playing the slots, and he was a lucky gambler. He loved baked beans and hot dogs on Saturday night, and he made the best biscuits.
Brian was kind, gentle, smart, and humble. He loved animals even though he complained whenever Pam brought a new dog home, but he didn't complain about all the farm animals Justin insisted on having. He had a special bond with BJ. They went everywhere together on the weekends. He was so happy when his daughter Jennifer agreed to provide daycare for the kids. He trusted her to try and keep them straight. Brian retired when Aubrey was in kindergarten, and he taught her how to skip rope while waiting for the school bus. Brian thought the world of Pam. You could always see the love he had for her in his eyes. He was a devoted husband and always willing to complete any task for his 'dolly'. They enjoyed their time together and loved traveling and going on camping trips, betting on horse races, and playing Yahtzee.
Brian loved his family and was very proud of them. He was the best husband, father, and brother. He is survived by his wife Pam of over 32 years, and their son Justin Buck of Presque Isle and their daughter Aubrey and husband Garrett DeLong of Presque Isle, his daughter Jennifer and husband Jeff Cray of Westfield, and his daughter Carrie of Kittery. He leaves behind his brother Maynard and wife Joye Buck of Florida, sister Cherryl Nickerson of North Carolina, brother David and his wife Pamala Buck of Etna, and sister-in-law Maryanne Buck of Mapleton. He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Jack Buck, Jr, brother Blake and his wife Rose Buck, and brother-in-law Charlie Nickerson. He was sadly predeceased by his son Brian Buck, Jr. in March 2020.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 11:00 am for calling hours and noon for the service, Duncan Graves Funeral Home, Church Street in Presque Isle. Interment will be at the Southside Cemetery in Mapleton on May 16 at 10:00 am.

My heart goes out to Brian´s family and loved ones. If I can say one thing about Brian he was a very hard worker and a great provider for his family. I´ve know Brian probably for over 60 years. Picking potatoes for his Dad and Brothers. Brian is family and the special times we all shared will always be treasured.
A funny thing I´d like to share is the house in west Chapman when Brian being in the concrete business he had his whole driveway done. Well being brought up in Mapleton Me and everyone in the county has gravel or mud driveways and his is concrete was really kind of cool being a kid!! I know Jennifer and Carrie had fun. Plus No Mud tracking with all those farm animals. You are now soaring high above watching over us.
