Brian Richard Kern, 85, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 under Hospice Care at the Lebanon Veterans Administration following a year-long illness. He was the son of the late David Alfred and Dorothy Litzenberger Kern and the husband of Joan Kern for 59 years.
Born in Fleetwood, he grew up in Shillington. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1957 and Franklin & Marshall College in 1961. He played basketball and tennis during his high school years as well as his college years.
He served active duty in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1961-1963.
A “car guy” Brian began his career as a salesman traveling up and down the east coast selling Dutch Craft recreation vehicles for the former Farenwald Enterprises in Willow Street and ended his career with Coachman RV’s.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster for 57 years.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, David Kern, husband of Kristen of Tampa, FL; and a daughter, Jenifer Ellen Kern-McGregor, wife of Douglas McGregor of Purcellville, VA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, PJ Kern, husband of Emily and father of David; Dean Kern of Los Angeles, CA; Christopher Kern of Tampa and Elise Joan Kern of Breckenridge, CO.; a sister, Dorothy Lefever, of Wyomissing; a niece, Jennifer Lefever of Brooklyn, NY and a step-grandson, Nicholas McGregor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church 140 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
