Brian Nicholas Kurz, 37, passed away December 27, 2021, in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Murray, KY. He was the youngest child of Christopher Paul Kurz and Rita Kane Kurz. He attended Statesboro High School and went on to study Pre-Pharmacy at the University of Georgia. He graduated from South University and received a Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Upon completing his doctorate, he moved to St. Augustine Beach, Florida, his dream of living at the beach and playing golf. He worked as the Pharmacy Manager at Walgreens in World Golf Village for 13 years and forever left an imprint on all the patients' lives he touched. He recently had begun a new career at FreseniusRx as Senior Manager of Pharmacy Benefits. He brought great success to the company and was revered by his team and leadership.
Brian was passionate about helping others and leaving a positive impact wherever he went. He loved going to concerts, playing guitar and was an avid golfer. He lived for sunny days, dancing on the beach and was the biggest UGA fan. Go Dawgs! He was always listening to a good book and planning success for the future, including becoming a Certified Pharmacy Benefit Specialist. He lived for the outdoors, long bike rides and playing with his dogs, Oscar and Ollie, in the pool. He was best known for his gravelly voice, empathetic eyes, heartwarming smile, and awesome ties. He was bigger than life. He served our community well, most notably winning Dancing Stars of St. John's County 2018 with a perfect score of 10's and raising the most money of all participants for underprivileged children. He was active in charity work of all kinds, including participating in every golf tournament, for every cause, in North Florida. He adored writing letters to Itiswam, his sponsored child in Tanzania and hoped to bring him to the United States one day. He loved our Lord and his family fiercely. He cherished his Mamaw and carried her with him always, St. Christopher secured around his neck. His favorite part of the week was Sunday Mass, glorifying God and praying with his love's hand entwined. His day, started and ended with the love of his life, his soulmate, sweet Melissa. His loss is tremendous and leaves hearts unwhole. His legacy will be honored and remembered forever.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Melissa Kurz; Parents: Christopher and Rita Kurz; Siblings: Stephanie Kurz and Paul Kurz (Kaitlyn); Nephews: Joshua Kurz, Tristan Kurz, Jasper Kurz, Curtis Kurz and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
