With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brian A. Nelson, 36, on June 4, 2025. He was the cherished husband of Tasha and a proud father to Brooks. He is also survived by his parents, Steve and Marcia Nelson, brother Brad Nelson (Katy), Father-in-law Tom Frana (Jeannie), Mother-in-law Lisa Fagerwick, sister-in-law Cassie Howard (Chad), brother-in-law Joe Frana (Joshua Boettcher), grandparents Frank Nelson (Sylvia), Polly Nelson, Gary Frana (Jackie) and seven nieces and nephews.
Brian was a graduate of Eagan High School and the University of Iowa where he earned a degree in Finance and Insurance Risk Management. Immediately following his graduation from Iowa, Brian took a position at Travelers Insurance Company where he worked his way up the ranks to his current position as an Underwriting AVP. Brian earned the respect of his constituents through his strong work ethic and integrity.
Brian was an avid golfer. Many an hour was spent chasing that little white ball either at Mendakota Country Club or on his numerous golf trips. But his greatest pride came from being a dad. He loved Brooks with boundless devotion and lit up whenever he got the chance to talk about him. He will be remembered for his love of family, his beloved Hawkeyes, his quick wit, and his numerous friendships.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mendakota Country Club (2075 Mendakota Drive, Mendota Heights, MN 55120) from 3:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, July 31. In lieu of flowers, a Meal Train account has been set up at mealtrain.com where donations can be made to support Tasha and Brooks in the months ahead.
Although Brian's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will lift our hearts and bring a smile to our faces. May his memory be a blessing to all that knew him.
