Brian A. Sharkey, aged 39 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Veronica at his side on November 10, 2023.
Brian was a graduate of Archmere Academy, University of Delaware, and Widener University Delaware Law School. He was an attorney for the New York City Department of Education, a job he very much loved. Brian was an avid musician who had a great ear for music and was a talented multi-instrumentalist, mostly self-taught. He was also a talented artist and often made beautiful paintings and drawings. Brian enjoyed collecting vinyl records and art as much as he enjoyed making it. He also enjoyed spending time with family especially during the holidays and playing with his niece and nephew. Brian was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and he especially loved the Flyers. He also begrudgingly was a fan of the Orioles and Ravens to support his wife. Growing up Brian enjoyed spending summers at the beach and traveling to many foreign places; his favorite of which was Europe.
Brian was a kind and loving soul, who will be sadly missed by his newly wed wife Veronica Love, his parents Lynn and Robert Sr., siblings Robert Jr. (Carlye), Alyssa (Dave), and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Internment will be at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Brian was a pleasure to work with. Although I did not know him very well (we only worked together on one case), he was always extremely responsive. Despite the challenges of working in a complex, overburdened system such as the NYC Department of Education, Brian worked diligently to ensure that a fair outcome was reached. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and send my condolences to Brian's family, co-workers, and friends.
