Brian Edward Smith

Brian Smith, husband of Kelly Smith, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Meriden, CT on August 9, 1956, he was the son of the late William E. Smith and Joyce Knight Smith. He had resided in Meriden and graduated from Platt High School. Brian was employed by Westvaco and Weyerhaeuser and retired around 2006.
Brian enjoyed fishing and golfing. He enjoyed listening to the Rolling Stones, Steve Miller Band and the Beach Boys. Most of all, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Kelly, he is survived by his five daughters, Charlotte Smith (Mark Carvalho), Heather McCotter (Mark McCotter), Haylee Maya (Jon Maya), Heidi Ferguson (Brett Ferguson) and Holly Oakes (Stephan Oakes); his son, Dwayne and his wife Amanda Smith; his grandchildren, Alecia, Mitchell, Madison, Jaiden, Dakoda, Maliyah, Janiyah, Ariyah, Eavie, Nathan, Kaitlan, Benjamin and Cameron and his three sisters, Jean Lindsay, Diane Lucier and Susan St. Pierre. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by William (Bubby), Roger, Patty, Martha, Pam, Laurel and Brenda.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Rd., Meriden, CT 06451. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
