Brigitte R. Langlois, 77, of Webster, MA, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster, after a period of declining health. Born June 17, 1947, in Saint Bernard, Quebec, to the late Napoleon Betty and Dorothy Lemay. Brigitte lived a life filled with love, faith, and a remarkable capacity for nurturing others.
Brigitte will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 54 years, Richard Langlois; her cherished children, Nicole Kuhn and her husband Tom of Georgia, Veronica Hopkins and her husband Herb, Collette LaFountain and her husband Mathew, and Christian Langlois, all of Webster, MA; and her precious grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan, Herbie, Elena, Thomas, and Stella, as well as her great-grandchildren, Samuel, Brayden, and Emersyn. She was preceded in death by her beloved baby girl, Laura Langlois.
Brigitte came to the United States in January 1964 her life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her family and friends. She was a proud member of Sacred Heart Church for the past 60 years, where she loved so many. She generously volunteered her time and talents being their sewing angel making baptismal bibs and stoles on a regular basis. She was part of the RCIA program and contributed to many parish events like the fun-filled yearly festivals. She also enjoyed her peaceful visits at the Emmaus Center. Brigittes faith guided her in everything she did, enriching the lives of those around her.
Beyond her devotion to God and family, Brigitte possessed a vibrant spirit and a multitude of talents. She worked at B&W in Webster and later at Stevens Linen in Dudley. However, her greatest passion lay in caring for children. For several years, she lovingly served as a daycare provider, nurturing, and cherishing each child as if they were her own. She was a gifted knitter and seamstress, making many beautiful hand stitched quilts, fixing and restoring family favorites and capable of crafting beautiful garments from the most modest materials, a talented baker whose apple squares, strawberry rhubarb pies and chocolate chip cookies were irresistible, and an extraordinary homemaker who found joy in creating a warm and most welcoming home. She was an avid gardener that harvested bigger and better crops year after year, she canned and appreciated her favorites.
Above all, Brigitte was a family-oriented woman. Family always came first. Her infectious giggles, her beautiful French, the broken English, along with her warm presence around the kitchen table will be deeply missed. She treasured simple pleasures like shopping trips to Kohl's, dining at Cracker Barrel, family photos, listening and singing to music, and taking bus trips with her beloved Richard.
Brigitte was one of twelve, she was preceded in death by Bernadette, Francois, Jean-Guy and Jacynthe.
She leaves behind five brothers and two sisters, Rodrigue, Bernardin, Fernand, Normand, Jean-Paul, and Jacqueline all of Canada and Monique of Brimfield MA. She was close and loved deeply all her siblings along with extended family and friends near and far. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on.
The calling hours will be held at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Ave, Dudley, MA on Thursday January 30, 2025, at 4:00-7:00 PM.
