Brigitte Meyer Obituary

She was born in Stuttgart, Germany to Ludwig Albert Lydorf and Emma Frida Kugler. She met her husband, William (Bill) Marion Meyer, while he was stationed in Germany serving in the United States Army. After deciding to spend the rest of her life with Bill, she immigrated to the United States and only six days later, Brigitte and Bill were married April 21, 1956 in San Francisco.
In 1965, they moved to Redwood City where they raised their three sons, Thomas Lewis, Hans Olaf, and Christian William. She spent the last years of her life in Lehi, Utah where she was reunited with family members who had already relocated there. She loved to tole paint, bake, sew, and research family history. She would frequently be spotted going to Saturday garage sales with her best friends. She enjoyed visits with the elderly and playing board games with her grandchildren around the dining table. Nana, as she was known to many, loved taking her grandchildren on short walks to Maddux park.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved her Savior Jesus Christ.
Brigitte has now been reunited with her husband Bill, son Hans, parents Ludwig and Emma, sister Uta Hedwig Lydorf Stoddard, and nephew Frank Lydorf.
Brigitte is survived by two sons, Thomas, and Christian (Kresten), daughter-in-law Rhonda, brother Karl-Ludwig Nikolaus, and brothers-in-law Al (Carolyn) Aldor and Wes Stoddard.
Grandchildren, Elise (David Kipp), Kristin Meyer, Sean, Patrick (Jaleece), Katie Meyer, Hannah Meyer, Emily Meyer, Jennifer (Ben Clark), Hans (Chelsea), Jeffrey (Lyndsey), Kelsey (Ben Shugart), Blake Burton, Mitchell (Alyssa), Christian, and Dawson.
Great Grandchildren, Aidan, Seery, Liam, Ashlynne, Ryan, Colin, Declan, Logan, Katie, Cillian, Brooklyn, Olivia, Landry, Sadie, Carter, Austin, Levi, Jett, Kylie, Jordyn, Peyton, Declan, Lucy, Jacob, Luke, Molly, Ava, and Lillian.
Nephew, Dirk Stoddard (Anna) and great nephew, Kanoa.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 25th at 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home in South Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45. Services will be streamed for those who cannot attend.
Nana's life and legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this time. We love you, Nana!
