He earned a bachelor's degree in Criminology at Central Connecticut State University in 2012. Dustin was recently accepted to Nichols College where he would begin his master's in Organizational Leadership Program on Halloween. Dustin was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. Dustin was a school resource officer at Greene-Hills and West Bristol Schools in Bristol. Dustin always lived life to the fullest. He was a kind, gentle spirit that was loved by many. Above all, Dustin whole-heartedly loved his family and every single moment he spent with them. He was a very proud husband and father who was taken way too soon.

My heart hurts for Sgt. DeMonte's family. I pray to God to help them during this difficult time. I worked with Dustin at West Bristol School. The first thing we talked about was family. He shared pictures of his wife and children to me, and I shared a picture of my daughter to him. He had such a caring heart. He knew how worried I was when the pandemic started with my daughter studying abroad in Spain. He would ask me, "Did she find a flight back home yet?" I'm praying right now to our Father God to help the family. In Jesus Name we pray. God bless you all!
