Brooke was born in Livonia, MI on August 14, 1970, daughter of the late Thomas and Patricia (Davis) Cairns. A proud graduate of Lakeland High School in White Lake, MI. She married Burton Kirby on January 16, 1993 in White Lake, MI. Brooke dedicated her life to helping others grow and thrive. Her career as a paraprofessional was more than just a job-it was her calling. From 2000 to 2019, she served the students of the West Bloomfield Transition Center with deep compassion and patience, nurturing those around her with unwavering care. In 2019, she continued her journey with the Walled Lake Consolidated School District, where she touched countless lives as a PAES Lab Supervisor until 2025. Beyond her work, Brooke had a heart full of joy and creativity. Her love for baking filled her home with sweet aromas and even sweeter memories. She found peace in the gentle art of candle making and had a gift for turning the simplest occasions into unforgettable celebrations. Nothing brought her more happiness than showering her grandbabies with love-they were truly the light of her life. Whether she was planning a birthday party, crafting a handmade gift, or relaxing with a cooking game on her tablet, Brooke embraced every moment with a spirit of love and generosity. Brooke will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her quiet dedication, her joyful presence, and the way she made every person she met feel truly seen and valued. Her legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Brooke is survived by her husband of 32 years, Burton Kirby; 2 sons, Austin Kirby and J.T. (Alexis) Kirby; 2 grandchildren, Bentley Kirby and Tatum Kirby; 3 siblings, Kim (Dennis) Miller, Albert (Carol) Cairns and Holly (Mark) Zorn; 7 nieces; 2 nephews; cousin, Belinda Conarty; many other loving family members and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Patricia Cairns; parents-in-law, Gerald and Janet Kirby.
