Bruce Allen Finnicum, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, following a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born May 14, 1951, in Dennison, Ohio, Bruce was the son of the late Donald F. and Donna (Klaserner) Finnicum. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, respected educator, and great friend.
Bruce was a 1970 graduate of Indian Valley South. He dedicated much of his life to teaching, serving as a welding instructor at Buckeye Career Center where he mentored and inspired countless students over the years. He was passionate about his trade and took great pride in sharing it with the next generation.
Summer vacations were a family tradition spent camping at Kelley's Island. He was always hitting the gym, enjoyed NASCAR races, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. In his older years, he played baseball and weekends were filled going to car shows with his pride and joy, Rebecca (his 1963 Plymouth Savoy). He also enjoyed collecting Lionel trains, going to swap meets, and took great pride in perfecting black raspberry pies with a homemade crust for Thanksgiving.
Bruce's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his daughter Danielle (Luis) Tovar and son Sean (Katie) Finnicum, as well as his beloved grandchildren Aleah, Harper, Alexia, Reece, Dylan, and Logan - all of whom he adored deeply and supported fiercely. He especially loved going to their sporting events. And his three brothers Don, Jon and Bill.
He will be remembered for his ornery grin, larger-than-life personality, big heart and of course his love for all things MOPAR.
A celebration of Life will be held at The Marilyn. 1260 Monroe Ave NW, New Philadelphia Ohio August 17th from 4pm to 8pm. Classic cars are encouraged with a Boulevard cruise to follow. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Bruce, please visit our Tree Store.
