Bryce Seaman, 83 of Phoenix, died on August 19, 2025 while visiting family in California. He was born in Michigan to Bryce and Marian Seaman and moved to Phoenix at the age of 4. Bryce graduated from Central High School in the Class of 1960 and attended the University of Arizona. Bryce worked for Coulter Cadillac for 39 years before retiring in 2008.
Bryce was active in the sports community both in Phoenix and across the state. He refereed high school football starting in 1963 and finished up his 50th season in 2012. In addition, Bryce was an Honorary Life member Hall of Fame Inductee 2012 Arizona Football Officials Association. Bryce took up soccer when it was sanctioned as an AIA sport in 1980 and worked the first State Championship game. In 1984 he was recognized as the most Outstanding Soccer Official in Arizona. Bryce served in numerous capacities during his 13 years on the CAFOA board serving the last 9 years as Secretary. In 1996 he received the National Distinguished Service Award.
During his retirement years, Bryce was a volunteer at the airport with the Phoenix Navigators organization. Bryce started volunteering in 2009 and logged 3397 hours of service over the past 16 years.
However most important to Bryce was his family. He and Helene, his wife of 60 years, were devoted to raising their two children. They both offered their children many opportunities in life, especially education, sports, boating, and camping. For many years they hosted an Easter softball game for neighbors, family and friends. In later years, Bryce and Helene enjoyed traveling together, often using their timeshare in Hawaii. They also enjoyed attending many of their grandchildrens' activities.
Bryce leaves behind his beloved wife Helene of 60 years, his daughter Dorice and son-in-law Bill; son Mark and daughter-in-law Sandra; and 4 fantastic grandchildren: Casey, Krista, Brooke, and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister Diane, brother-in-law Dennis, and their three children.
