Bud Wesley Kouns

Bud Wesley Kouns, 60, of Grayson passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a long hard fought illness. Wesley was born February 4, 1965 in Ashland, KY a son of the late, Delmar and Rosa Pauline Conley Kouns. Wesley served his country honorably in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Wesley was a Carpenter with the local 472. Wesley enjoyed coon hunting, fishing at pay lakes, and ginseng hunting and was known as a true outdoorsman. Wesley was a true warrior and fought a tough battle with cancer for over 15 years.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Miccia Michelle Burton Kouns; two sons, Jacob Kouns and Charles Wesley (Whitney Griffith) Kouns; two bonus daughters, Savanna Rice and Tessa Martin; six grandchildren, Gavin Kouns, Landyn Kouns, Karleigh Kouns, Charley Michelle Kouns, Chloe Suttles and Wyatt Suttles; six brothers, Delmar R. (Melissa) Kouns, Arnold Lee (Missy) Kouns, Edward Dwight (Angie) Kouns, Bobby Gene Kouns, William Kyle (Kim) Kouns and Jason Earl (Chuck) Kouns; six sisters, Cheri (Clayton) Kouns, Loretta Paula (Greg) Reynolds, Linda Gail (Mike) Gee, Barbara Kay (Randy) Seagraves, Carol Faye (Billy) Baker and Madonna (Mark) Skaggs; and a host of friends and extended family members who all mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Collier and Bro. Shawn King officiating. Burial will follow in the Kouns Family Cemetery on Smith Branch with military honors. Visitation will be 11 am Tuesday until the service hour at the funeral home.
