Clarence "Bud" Moffitt, 81, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Bud was the son of the late Roy and Clara Stamey Moffitt. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alma Berg and Barbara Cromer; and a great grandson, Caleb Watson. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and he helped at the old St. Francis Church. He was commonly referred to as "Pop".
Bud joined the Army and was stationed in Indiana, where he met and married Dee. While there he worked at Bethlehem Steele for 10 years. He decided to move back to Franklin, NC, "God's Country". He retired from LBJ Job Corp and later started driving a school bus for 25 years. He loved his job because he loved children. He enjoyed playing cards and board games, he loved to win as he was very competitive. He was passionate about softball and coached girls' softball for 20 years. He took pride in growing a garden and mowing. He never failed to bring Dee a flower from the yards that he took care of. His greatest passion was his love for his families and spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delia "Dee" Zacarias Moffitt; two daughters, Colleen Watson (Chuck) and Germaine Moffitt; grandchildren, Jacob Watson, Emily Ballant (Ryan), Eli Moffitt, Parker Watson; siblings, Don Moffitt, Frank Moffitt, Terry Moffitt, Helen Ammons; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Monday January 29th, at 12pm at St Francis Catholic Church. Father Tien will officiate. The family will receive friends in the life center at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dear friends, I send my love to you! I will never forget Bud or any of you. You are family to me for the many summers we spent together playing ball at the park. Some of the best, most joyous times of my life! Bud was such an easy going man, that knew how to enjoy life! Later in life, I would see him, and catch up from time to time at Mc D's or bojangles :) I know you will miss him. God hold you all close and fill your heart with peace. Love Karen (McClure) Hayhurst
