Buddy "Butch" died Sunday, December 1, 2024 in Lubbock. He was born April 22, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Bud and Bertha (Vernon) Nairn. He married Nancy Bailey in Brownfield, Texas on August 17, 1963.
Butch graduated from Texas Tech University, worked as a petroleum engineer, and was great at his job. He was well educated and loved to read. Butch was a Tech fan before ther were computers or even the internet. Butch also played football at Rice University in Houston. He loved football, tennis and racquetball. He enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his roses and garden. Butch liked to watch westerns and barbecuing. He also coached Little League. Most of all, he loved being around all of his grandkids and great-grandkids. Butch was a life-long member of the Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Billye Nairn Townsend.
Butch is survived by his wife, Nancy; his two sons, John Kevin Nairn of Littlefield, Texas and Justin Lee Nairn and his wife, Stephanie of Lubbock, Texas; his five grandchildren, Brian John Nairn, Kevin Nathaniel Nairn, Meagan Nicole Nairn Rogers, Kaythlynn Lee Nairn and Devyn Michelle Nairn; and his two great-grandchildren, Isabella Nairn and Mia Nicole Nairn.
The family suggests memorials be sent to your charity of choice.
