Buena Rogers Stallard, December 11, 1933 – June 16, 2025
Buena Rogers Stallard (91) of Erwin, TN, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday June 16, 2025 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was surrounded by family telling beautiful stories of her life and expressing their love.
Buena was the daughter of the late William and Mary Rogers. Buena lived most of her life in Erwin, TN. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Jack Ernest Stallard. Buena is survived by her daughters; Tressa Davis and husband, Bobby of Unicoi and Tricia Bryant and husband, Tony of Knoxville; grandson, Brent Davis and wife Tosha of Elizabethton; and two great grandchildren, Maddy and Zalen. Buena was of Baptist Faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Erwin, TN. She was an active member until failing health prevented her from doing so. She lived a few years in Jacksonville, Florida when Jack was transferred from Clinchfield Railroad in Erwin to Jacksonville. Upon retirement Jack and she moved back home to Erwin to be with family and their young grandson.
Buena loved to square dance. She and Jack traveled to dances near and far for as long as they were able. One of the last times they got to dance together was at Brent and Tosha's wedding. Dancing, as well as being outside working in her yard, and spending time with her family were her favorite pastimes.
Buena will be missed by all who knew her. Buena's devotion as a spouse, friend, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother will live on in our hearts. She was blessed with a long life and devoted husband who loved her with all his heart. May they dance together again in Heaven.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Buena Rogers Stallard in a funeral service to be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Valley Funeral Home. Dr. Brian Scott will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 1:00 PM and will continue until service time on Saturday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Johnson City, TN with Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. Those who wish to attend will meet at Roselawn Memory Gardens on Monday by 1:50 PM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

We would like to give a special thanks to Teresa, Judy, Lib, and Lisa for all the love and excellent care they gave Buena. All of their commitment to Buena allowed her to remain in her home until the day before she passed. We will be forever grateful for all they did.
