Our dear mother, Carilyn Manning Stenquist peacefully passed away on October 30, 2022, at the age of 89. She spent her childhood years in Garland Utah. Carilyn and her twin sister Marilyn were the center of attention in a loving household of older sisters. She graduated from Bear River High School and moved forward, studying music at BYU. She married Leland Stenquist and was a dedicated mother of 7 children. She showed true charity as she opened her home to include 3 young men enrolled in the Indian Placement Program. She led a life committed to her beliefs and served faithfully in many Church assignments. Carilyn and Leland enjoyed serving together in Missions in England and Sweden. She always enjoyed learning and personal development. In her mid-life she graduated from the Weber State College of Nursing, resulting in a career as a Registered Nurse. She rounded out her life of formal education by studying art at the University of Utah. The walls of the homes of her family and friends are showcases of her fine oil paintings. Carilyn’s example of hard work and self-development remains to be emulated by her posterity.
She was predeceased by her husband Leland Stenquist and is survived by her children, David and Adele Stenquist, Anna Margaret and Dennis Grow, Lee and Allyson Stenquist, Paul and Gay Stenquist, James and Kathryn Stenquist, Julie and Brian Coleman and Allen and Janis Stenquist. She has 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
