Carl Catalanotto

Carl Catalanotto, 76, of Cortland, Ill., formerly of Westmont, Ill., died suddenly in his home on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023.
Born Jan. 2, 1947, in Villa Franca, Italy, the son of Michael and Francesca (DeAngelo) Catalanotto, Carl married Judith Lantrip in April 1965. He worked for 42 years at Borg Warner in Bellwood, where he made many good friends. Carl was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, of any type of Mopar car, watching professional wrestling, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and NASCAR.
Carl is preceded in death by his father, Michael, and his mother, Francesca.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his 2 children, Michael (Dana) Catalanotto and Lisa Mazur; his 3 grandchildren, Eugene Korycki, Calogero Catalanotto and Joseph (Nicole) Catalanotto; 3 siblings, Joseph Catalanotto, John Catalanotto, and Josephine (Phillip) Ferrantelli; and nieces and nephews, Michael Catalanotto, Anna Catalanotto, Carmela Ferrantelli and John Luke Lamphere.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Olson's Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178, with visitation following from 1:30 pm to 4 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will take place privately at a later date.
