Carl Mikel Obituary

Born in Freeport, TX, he was the son of Joe and Hilda Mikel. He graduated from Angleton High School in 1968. He worked as a rig welder for most of his life and earned the nickname "golden arm" for his expert skills.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, building his 1929 Ford Model A, collecting coins, and spending time with his family and dogs. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others when needed, his sense of humor, his directness, and his passion for riding his Harley.
He is survived by his girlfriend Flo Petenbrink, brothers Bennie Mikel (Lee) and Bill Lilley, children Carl Mikel, Jr., Anthony Mikel, Marisa Dudley (Calvin), Waylan Mikel (Amanda), and Holly Garcia (Ryan), grandchildren Heather Thorn (Don), Megan Gerrick (Brian), Carly Rann (Steven), Tia Mikel, Darion Tolbert, Dillon Tolbert, Jordan Tolbert (Mariah), Jamar Alston, Piper Mikel, Paisley Ralston, Kennedy Mikel (Amber), Ethan Wilson, many great-grandchildren, and motorcycle and poker buddies. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. His family would also like to express their appreciation for the Gentiva Hospice team and the loving dedication of his caregiver, Amber Stine.
In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
