Carl Zirnheld Obituary

Carl "Bruce" Zirnheld, age 90, passed away peacefully at home. A proud 1954 graduate of duPont Manual High School and outstanding football player, Bruce deeply cherished the friendships and memories from those years.
He was an active member of the Beechmont Little League community, dedicating countless hours to coaching, field work, and maintaining the grounds. He brought his trademark energy and enthusiasm to recreational softball and basketball leagues in his younger adult years and continued his athletic pursuits as an avid tennis player well into his late 80s.
Music was a lifelong passion, and Bruce loved singing in church, especially in the choir at Lynnhurst United Church of Christ and with the Watchman Quartet at Bethany Christian Church in Anderson, Indiana, where he was a member until his passing.
Bruce spent his career as a salesman and truly never met a stranger. He was also an active member of Kiwanis Clubs in both Louisville, Kentucky, and Alexandria, Indiana.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise "Dolly" Zirnheld and Robert "Bus" Zirnheld; his son, Michael B. Zirnheld; his brother, Bob Zirnheld; and his loyal canine companions, Princess, Luke, Lola, and Baylor. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy (Frazier) Zirnheld; daughters Denise Bohn (Bob), Sara Taylor (T.J.), and Tai Zirnheld; son Greg Zirnheld (Susan); and brother, Steve Zirnheld (Sharon). He was a proud grandfather to Blair, Lindsay, Halee, Lauren, Cooper, Emerson, Hannah, Chloe, Brooklynn, Kaleb, Blake, Kaison, Rae, and Reid, and great-grandfather to Jack, Luke, Maddie, Reid, Layne, Baylor, Allie, Roman, Enzo, Giorgio, Nyia, Ambrose, Josephine, and Emmett. Bruce also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and his best guy, Buddy.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany Christian Church, 1920 Rangeline Road, Anderson, Indiana, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Bruce's name to the Animal Rescue Fund in Muncie, Indiana.
