Carlene Mayo Obituary

Carlene J. Mayo, 82, passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2023 peacefully in her sleep at her home in Kingston, NH. She was born July 23, 1941 in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late Russell Post and Maxine (Faxon) Kolias.
Carlene grew up in Plaistow, NH and was one of eight children in her family. On July 10, 1958, she married the love of her life, Robert E. Mayo Jr. who was fondly known as "Pa" throughout much of his life. They lived in Albuquerque, NM while Robert was stationed there. After his honorable discharge from the service, they returned to Plaistow, NH to raise their family in their hometown. For 20 years, Carlene was the co-owner and operator of Uncle Buddy's in Plaistow, NH. They enjoyed camping at Johnson's Camp in West Ossipee, NH and vacationing in Aruba.
Carlene took care of kids her whole life and was a devoted caretaker for her brother "Charlie". She was a great cook, was very crafty, and she enjoyed making her own floral bouquets for all occasions.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carlene was predeceased by her son, James Douglas Mayo "Jamie"
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Johnson and Gardner, daughter and son-in-law, Suzy Johnson and Thomas, son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Mayo III and Deborah, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, brother, Russell Post Jr., Sister Debbie Post, brother, William Kolias, brother, John Kolias, sister, Jane Kolias, sister, Tina Bouraphael, brother, David Kolias, brother, Charles Kolias, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 18th at 11:30 am at Danville Community Center located at 169 Main Street, Danville, NH.
A private burial will be held at the Center Cemetery, Danville, NH.
Carlene was a devout Christian having attended Rock Church in Plaistow, NH for several years and most recently she attended the First Congregational Church of Kingston, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either church.
