Carlos "Chale" Martinez Carrasco has moved on to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday May 13, 2024.
Carlos was born January 12, 1933 to Manuel & Cesaria Carrasco in Saragosa, Texas. He had 2 brothers and 8 sisters. He was a man that had an immeasurable work ethic, that started at an early age working the cotton fields in Saragosa/Balmorhea Texas, where he fortunately met his beautiful wife, Merita. They married March 17, 1951; had 5 amazing children and were both dedicated members and Eucharist Ministers at St. Joseph's Catholic church. Chale worked over 45 years for Lamar/Newman Advertising which attests to his commitment, loved playing baseball, had a passion for boxing, fishing, hunting, loving his grandkids, and was even known to handle a few rattlesnakes here and there. He had a remarkable love for talking to people, making them laugh and making sure people were comfortable around others. He dedicated his life to making sure his family was always taken care of, as he was an awesome provider and protector No matter the situation or environment he was in, Chale never once complained about anything or anyone. He was a remarkable Godly man, that truly loved life every minute and it showed on how he lived his life every minute until his last breath.
Carlos is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Mary "Merita" Chavez Carrasco, his daughter Velma Carrasco-Hill, his grandson Carlos Carrasco, his grandson Terry Joe, his great-granddaughter Sadie, his great-grandson Christian Ramirez, his parents Manuel & Cesaria Carrasco, and other loving family members.
Carlos is survived by his children; His daughter Olga and Ruben Matta, his daughter Wilma Carrasco, his son Juan Carlos and Mary Ann Carrasco, and his son Manuel & Hollie Carrasco. His grandchildren Kim & spouse Jesse Ramirez, Mark & spouse Amy Matta, Melissa & spouse John Zenger, Major Sarah A. Carrasco USMC Retired, Michelle & spouse Hughie Gray, Haley Carrasco, and 2nd LT Jared Carrasco United States Marine Corps. Carlos is also survived by his wonderful great-grandchildren; Wyatt Matta, Kaleb Zenger, Sophie Ramirez, Emily Matta, Bella Zenger, Lucas Matta, Maddox Gray, Jax Gray, and Malia Gray.
Carlos was a strong, and supportive man who always believed in family first. He led by example on how to be a true husband, a true father, and the greatest Grempo! He lived an amazingly full life and leaves a legacy to be proud of for many generations to come!
Pallbearers will be Jared Carrasco, Wyatt Matta, Kaleb Zenger, John Zenger, Mark Matta, Lucas Matta, Hughie Gray, and Jesse Ramirez.The Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 10am-9pm at Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. The Remembrance portion will be held at 6pm, and the Rosary will then be held at 7pm Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Odessa Bible Church in Odessa, Texas. The Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery ~Los Angles Section. Arrangements are all by Martinez Funeral Home.
