Carlos Edward Tavarez

Carlos Edward Tavarez, age 35, of Hastings, was found to have died on February 8, 2024. Carlos was a native and lifelong resident of St. Johns County. He attended local schools and graduated from Pedro Menendez High School with the class of 2006. After his graduation, Carlos worked in construction and lawn care for many years. Though he had his struggles, Carlos had a huge heart and would help anyone in need. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed following Florida Gator football, watching many games with his dad. He enjoyed the Florida outdoors, boating and fishing every chance he got. More than anything Carlos loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, Debbie Terrell and her fiancé Wayne of Hastings; his father, Carlos Tavarez and wife, Gwendolyn of South Carolina; his stepfather, Joey Corbin; stepbrother, Donnie Corbin; stepsister, Tiffany Corbin; maternal grandfather, Ronnie Terrell of Hastings, Stepsisters Macey McRoberts, Jaden McRoberts, and Kaleigh McRoberts as well as stepbrother Cajun Mcroberts. Aunts, Tracey Roberts (Robbie), Tammie Edwards (Dale), Veronica Terrell (Jesse), all of St. Augustine, Marisol Manken (Joe) of Jacksonville, Daniela Tavarez of St. Augustine; uncle, Juan Tavarez as well as many cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Diane Terrell his great grandmother, Mary Davies, and his brother, Brian Allen Tavarez.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St Johns Family Funeral Home with Dr. Clarence Blalock officiating. A visitation, beginning at 1 pm will precede the service.
