Justin Matthew Ryan, age 39, of St. Augustine, passed away on December 21, 2022 at Advent Health in Orlando, FL. after a brief illness. Justin was born in Hollywood, FL on March 9, 1983 to Michael and Josephine (DeFrank) Ryan. He grew up in Hollywood, Florida and moved with his family to St. Augustine at the age of 10 years old. Justin loved sports and played baseball from the age of 4. He played catcher, pitcher and shortstop competing in Little League playing on his high school team at Pedro Menendez High School. He graduated from Pedro Menendez High School with the class of 2002. Justin started his career in the restaurant industry while still in high school. He most recently had been working as a manager at Carrabba's Italian Grill in St. Augustine. Justin was proud of his work and had a great rapport with his customers. His great sense of humor helped him connect easily with people. To know him was to love him. He was very giving and was known widely for his huge heart. Outside of work he enjoyed golf with friends. He will be deeply missed.
Justin is survived by his mother, Josephine "Jo" Ryan and his father, Michael "Mike" Ryan, both of St. Augustine, a brother, Michael "Mike" Ryan and his wife Jennifer of Long Island, New York; a sister, Jamie Cyr and husband David of St. Augustine, FL., a niece and nephews.
A private family visitation will be held. A memorial mass will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at San Sebastian Catholic Church with Father Thomas Walsh officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be held at San Lorenzo Cemetery at a later date.
