Jason Allen Ashton, 30, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away at his home on May 23, 2025. A lifelong resident of St. Augustine, Jason was born on June 14, 1994, the beloved son of David and Angelia "Angie" Ashton.
Jason was a 2012 graduate of Pedro Menendez High School and was employed as a block mason with Young's Masonry.
In addition to his work, Jason was a gifted artist whose remarkable drawings reflected his creativity and deep imagination. He was also an avid outdoorsman who found joy and peace in fishing and hunting-especially when spending time with family and friends.
Above all, Jason cherished his role as a father. He is survived by his two treasured daughters, Shayla and Mia Ashton; his loving parents, David and Angie Ashton; his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Gale Ashton; maternal grandmother, Cathy Newbern; his brother, Allen Ashton (Alexis); and his nephews, Memphis and Maverick Ashton. He is also remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James "Mitch" Boyd.
Jason's life will be honored at a celebration of life at 3:00 p.m. Sunday June 8, 2025 at the St. Augustine Shrine Club, 250 Brainard Dr., St. Augustine, FL 32086. All are welcome and food will be provided.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Arrangements are under the care of St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
