Carlos Arturo Vallejos, 84, of Dexter, New Mexico died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in his home, surrounded by family.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Church, located at 506 S. Lincoln Avenue, beginning at 10:00 AM.
He was the beloved husband of Gloria Vallejos; loving father of Rikk Vallejos, Denise Vallejos, James Gary Vallejos, and Debra Richardson; loving grandfather to Todd Vallejos, Amy Dushane, Brady Vallejos, Desiree & Josh Martinez, Gabriel & Hazel Garcia, Denea Garcia, Marc & Audrey Vallejos, Demi Chavez, Devaney & Vincent Guajaca, and Josaiah Richardson; a loving great-grandfather to Luxie Dushane, Bellamy Brown, Liam Martinez, Levi Martinez, Mila Martinez, Brian Durham, Avram Garcia, Evie Garcia, Noah Lozano, Emmett Garcia, Kaden Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Julian Perez, Kayleigh Garcia, Autum Chavez, Dean Chavez, Dolly Chavez, D'Nero Lucero, Maliyah Vallejos, Nolan Vallejos, and Calisee Guajaca.
Carlos was born in Mountainair, New Mexico to Biterbo and Rosita Vallejos, he was one of 15 brothers and sisters. Carlos retired after 18 years with the Chaves County Road Department, where he was a heavy-duty load operator.
Carlos loved his grandchildren, enjoyed horse racing, boxing and sharing his humor with those around him. To know him was to love him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
