Carmella M. (Apostolico) Carpenter, 85, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, died Thursday, August 14, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Alford J. Carpenter, who died December 28, 2022.
Born November 29, 1939 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Angelina (Senick) Apostolico.
Carmella was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale. She lived for her family and was so proud of them watching several generations grow up around her. She was kind, loving, supportive and sweet and was the best cook and baker.
She was an avid Yankees fan and loved country music, especially Danny O'Donnell and Loretta Lynn.
She is survived by one daughter: Michele Frisbie of Carbondale, PA; one son: Al Carpenter, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Wallkill, NY; one brother: Michael Apostolico and wife, Cookie of Carbondale, PA six grandchildren: Mark and wife, Leah, Jessica, Lauren, Tyler, Mackenzie and wife, Angelina and Samantha; five great grandchildren: Kadin, Kamri, Brock, Kathryn and Luca; a sister-in-law: Cheryl Apostolico of Carbondale, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Anthony "Pistol" Apostolico and two sisters: Madelyn Homets and Anna Mae Wood.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Kevin Miller and Rev. Joseph Mosley. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford, PA.
A viewing was held Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements were under the care of the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
