Carol Ann Allen, 77, of Arcola, IL passed away at 11:57 AM on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Arcola Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL.
Carol was born on February 5, 1947 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of Robert and Doraleen (Shively) Grider. She married Richard Cottrill on December 12, 1964 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1965.
She is survived by three children, Jeff Griffin of Sullivan, IL, Sheryl Vice and her husband Eliy “Butch” of Georgetown, IL, and Tanya Miller and her husband Duane of Georgetown, IL, ten grandchildren, Bethany Cottrill and Ryan Cottrill, Ashley Colunga, William Vice, Dylan Vice and Grace Vice, Mathiew Woodard Waddell, Larry Woodard, August Booe and Courtney Miller, many great grandchildren, three siblings, Bob Grider of Mattoon, IL, Cathy Plank and her husband Marx of Arthur, IL, and Brenda Wright of Tuscola, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Grider and Doraleen Lightner, her husband, Richard Cottrill, and one son, Doug Cottrill.
When Carol was younger, she loved to roller skate. She enjoyed listening to music and people watching. She loved animals, specifically dogs and cats, but most of all Carol enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family.
