Carol Sanderson Birch and Edward Earl Birch
NORTH PORT, FL - It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Carol S. Birch, 93, on September 12th, 2025 in Glens Falls after spending a wonderful summer with her son at his lakefront home.
Carol was the daughter of the late Howard B. and Vera (Kirtland) Sanderson and sister to Joan C. Senter and Judith E. McClennan. Carol was predeceased by her husband Edward E. Birch, 91, on January 25th, 2023. Ed was the son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Gardiner) Birch and brother to the late Harold Arthur Birch and William Birch.
Relocating to Florida from Rhode Island, Ed and Carol enjoyed many happy retirement years. Together they embraced the Florida lifestyle, the beaches with visiting family, Ed, with his tennis and Carol with her stained glass hobby and riding her three wheeled bike. Their home was decorated to include Carol's favorite bird, the Roseate Spoonbill and Ed's Red Sox memorabilia. Ed being a true diehard Red Sox fan which included owning a commemorative brick from Fenway Park.
He was proud of his time serving with the Marines.
They were predeceased by a daughter, Nancy A. North, 58, in Englewood, Florida on October 11th, 2021.
They leave behind 3 children, Scott A. Marlow, Susan (Earl) Oliver and Cheryl (Charles) Hall; 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; 14 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grand children.
Never forgotten, forever in out hearts.
