Carol Gordon Howe at 74 of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, passed away on August 5, 2025 in Somerset, Kentucky, due to complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Carol was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 4, 1950, daughter of the late Richard and Helen Gordon. She attended Woodward High School (when she had to) and after graduating from the University of Cincinnati, Carol pursued a career in social services, first in Ohio and then in Kentucky, where she worked many years for the Cabinet for Families and Children.
Following retirement, Carol took what had been a weekend hobby (obsession) and turned making pottery into a full-time occupation, operating Junkyard Pottery in Parkers Lake for many years. The Covid epidemic, combined with failing eyesight and arthritic hands, forced the closing of the shop in 2020, an event that broke her heart. Carol struggled with a variety of health problems after that, culminating with the diagnosis of Parkinson's last fall.
Carol is survived by a brother, Gary Gordon of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Jan Gordon of West Chester, Ohio; and her partner and husband of 47 years, David "Dave" Howe.
Carol chose cremation and asking -no- insisted there be no fuss, no funeral, no services, and no "celebration of life". Party? Perhaps....
