Carol Emily Bratton Klumpp was born on November 15, 1947, in Crowley, La and peacefully passed away on August 14, 2024, at her residence with her devoted husband by her side. Carol chose to spend as much time as possible with those she loved, and to remind them that she had few regrets, having led a very full and faithful life. She impressed all by keeping her sense of humor to the very end and handling her declining health with incredible grace. While her ailments may have taken her from her family, it never robbed her of her quick wit nor her extraordinary love and compassion for those around her.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Gerald Klumpp, her son, Brian Bradshaw, her daughters Pamela (Terry) Jones and Claire (Scotty) Barnett, her children born of the heart, Garett (Stephanie) Klumpp, Gayland (Alayna) Klumpp, Gwen (Charla Blake) Klumpp, and Geri (Brant) Duplechain. Carol adored her grandchildren, Dylan Bradshaw, Brandon Bradshaw, Nicholas (Sharlie) Badon, Zachary (Trisha) Badon, Alex (Kristen) Badon, Carsen Jones, Emily Barnett, and Garrett Barnett, as well as her bonus grandchildren, Zack (Gabriella) Klumpp, Chloe (Trever) Bertrand, Sophie Klumpp, Griffin Klumpp, Grayson Klumpp, Julia Duplechain, Kaydence Duplechain, and Timothy Duplechain. She loved all her great grandchildren, Colby, Corbin, Payton, Daxton, Adalynn, Cullen and Statler. Carol is also survived by her sister Patricia (Kenneth) Bertrand, and brothers David (Shirley) and Joseph (Patricia) Bratton.
Many may remember Carol from the years of service provided by the Jennings Answering Service on Cary Avenue. She will also be remembered for the selfless and compassionate care she bestowed to her niece, Jackie Bratton and her mom, Annette Bratton. Carol loved Jesus and if she knew you, she prayed for you. Her favorite passage was Psalm 91. Carol lovingly met you where you were and encouraged you with no judgement.
Visitation will take place on August 16, 2024, starting at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings. It will resume on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Clifton LeJeune officiating in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley, LA, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Carol will be remembered for her kind heart, always putting others’ needs before hers and her unwavering love of her family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
