Carol A. Kohls, 79, Vesper, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Dale Runaas will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wood, Wood County.
Carol was born on June 7, 1945 to Herschel and Gladys (Hanold) Brockman. She graduated from Orfordville High School. After spending time as a travel agent in Madison, Carol met Howard H. "Howie" Kohls on Valentine's Day in 1971 and was united in marriage on August 21, 1971 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vesper. He passed away on October 20, 2021.
Carol enjoyed animals (especially horses), watching birds, reading, doing puzzles, and gardening. She always had a smile on her face and was constantly optimistic in every situation.
She is survived by a son, Jeff (Jodie) Kohls of Fridley, MN, a daughter, Diane (Kurt) Wein of Marshfield and two grandsons, Sam and Dylan Kohls. She is further survived by her brother, Lawrence "Mack" Underhill and sister, Nancy Clankie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Richard Underhill, Millard Underhill, William Newcomb, Betty Schwartzlow, and Mary Runaas.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Aspirus Cancer Center and Home Hospice and Compassus House of the Dove.
