CAROL L. POMRANING, (Hopkins) of Delta, PA, passed away on April 24, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was the beloved wife and soul mate of Harvey P. Pomraning who died on April 2, 2011. At the time of his passing, they had shared 27 years of marriage; however together for 30.
Born on February 7, 1944 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was one of five children born to the late Graeme Holloway Hopkins, Sr., and Lula Mae Sargable (Druery).
Carol graduated from Edgewood High School in 1962. Carol was a talented employee throughout her life but her most prestigious career was with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Throughout her 37 years of dedicated service to the VA as a Contract Specialist she worked at the following hospitals: Baltimore, Lock Raven, Perry Point and retired from Coatesville in 2016.
Carol began her passion to travel early on where she lived in Washington State with her beloved aunt and uncle. During her lifetime she also lived in North Dakota, Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Carol was able to visit 44 states as well as the Caribbean, Mexico and Punta Cana.
Carol and her late husband, Harvey, loved to do everything together. In the beginning of their love story they tended a large garden, canning or freezing their vegetables and cared for their small farm. They raised horses, pigs, beef steers and chickens. They loved to go dancing, play cards with friends, deep sea-fish and most of all spend time with their blended family. Carol was an avid reader, an amazing cook creating those special family Sunday dinners as well as hosting large holiday celebrations where she would prepare everything herself.
Carol is survived by-

Kevin Player of West Grove, PA
Brandy Miller and her husband, Kevin of Delta, PA
Sherri Hicks and her husband, Cliff of Newark, MD
Stephanie Wire and her husband, Randy of Airville, PA
Sixteen Grandchildren:
Jeffrey Player Jr., Brandon Player, Savannah Riley, Willow Koger, Jonathan Player, Shannen Stout, Chris Stout, Joslyn Miller, Jared Miller, Brianna Miller, Heather Evans, Michael Smeltzer, Michelle Steuernagle, Melissa Hart, Christina Murray, Josh Wire
Twenty adored Great-Grandchildren
A sibling-Roberta Lynn Moxley of Aberdeen, MD
She was preceded in death by her other siblings-Graeme Hollow, Jr., Peggy Ann Sparks and Benjamin Harrison Hopkins.
Carol was a member of New Covenant Community Church in Delta when Reverend Lanny Kilgore was the minister.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Salem Church of Delta, 5042 Delta Road, Delta, PA.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at 11 am at the Salem Church of Delta, 5042 Delta Road, Delta, PA, her pastor, Reverend Lanny Kilgore will officiate.

Carol was a great friend and mentor. I will miss our talks most , and the fun girls trips with ladies. She always had a great and positive outlook and was full of love for others. I will miss her.
