MARQUETTE, MI – Carol Linn Supanich, age 67, of Marquette, passed away September 26, 2022, at UP Health System – Marquette.
Born June 27, 1955, in Jacobsville, Michigan, Carol was raised in Jacobsville and graduated from Calumet High School, Class of 1973. Carol was united in marriage to John Karvola and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Calumet. For many years, Carol was employed as a bartender for various Calumet taverns and later worked for Louie's Grocery Store and the IGA for 15 years prior to her retirement in 2010. In 2016, Carol relocated to Marquette to enjoy retirement. She was tough, could be stubborn, but possessed a pleasant, optimistic personality. She enjoyed church bingo, spending time with her friends, and playing cards. Carol was especially generous with her time and talent, always willing to lend a helping hand. An avid reader, she could usually be found reading a book or magazine. She enjoyed sending cards and letters and never missed the opportunity to send a card or note to family and friends on one of the many Hallmark card occasions. An animal lover, Carol was particularly fond of her cats.
However, it was the grandkids who brought her the greatest joy and fulfillment and she was intensely proud of them.
Carol is survived by her sons, Aaron (Ashley) Karvola of Exeter, NH, Erik (Stephanie) Karvola of Grayling, and Scott Talso of Ishpeming; her grandchildren, Gavin and Jayden Karvola. Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
Honoring Carol's request, private family services will be held.
Memorials may be directed to Aaron Karvola, 119 Court Street, Exeter, NH 03833.
