Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 22, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Caroline S. Dupuy, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at River Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Friday.
Rev. Reed Bellingham will officiate at the funeral. Readers will be Renee' Usie and Corinne Dupuy.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Born on December 29, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Caroline touched the lives of many through her creativity, kindness, and devotion to her family. Caroline's artistic talent shone brightly throughout her life. Holding a high school diploma from East Jefferson High School, she pursued her passion for design and artistry. As a senior, she captivated audiences with her collection of self-designed dresses, known as "Alanta Troy Originals," which included cocktail dresses, semi-formals, and a stunning wedding gown. Caroline's other acclamations included her being crowned Junior Miss New Orleans, Miss Audubon, and Miss Retail Grocer.
Caroline was a valued member and board director of the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Association and was inducted in the Crawfish Festival Hall of Fame. She played a significant role in relocating the festival to the park, leaving a lasting legacy within the community. Caroline's artistic talent was also showcased through her stunning designs for numerous Crawfish Festival Posters, capturing the essence of this beloved annual event. Her warm heart and unwavering love for her family and community will forever be cherished and remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Sidney Joseph Dupuy, IV (Bonny), Edmund Dupuy (Corinne), Jean Dupuy, Sr. (Michelle), Denise Dailey (Robert), Andrea Castille (Craig) and Renee Usie (Mike); siblings, Anthony Santangelo (Carol), Agnes Smith (Herb), Brenda Espenan (Al), Janet Pariaro (Rob) and Anita Aucoin (Keith); grandchildren, Bryan Conrad, Addelaide Cuneo, Gabriel Dailey, Camille Dailey, Logan Berard (Blake), Cameron Angelle (Noah), Wayne Usie (Erika), Ross Usie (Juliana), Dawn Doiron (Mike), Lanie Dupuy, Sidney Dupuy, Marc Dupuy, Lindsey Dupuy, Jean Dupuy (Ashley) and Andre' Dupuy; and her great-grandchildren, Madeline McKnight, Silas Angelle, Marilou Angelle, Georgia Berard, Isla Usie, Clark Usie, Francis Usie, Jacob Doiron, Allyse Doiron, Kennedy Dupuy, Edith Berard, and Yves Dupuy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Dupuy, III; father, Leon Santangelo; mother, Agnes Russell Santangelo; and her granddaughter, Danielle Dupuy.
Pallbearers will be Sidney Dupuy, IV, Pierre Dupuy, Mike Usie, Wayne Usie, Jean Dupuy, and Andre' Dupuy.
Honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Dupuy and Ross Usie.
