Caroline E. Katherine of Dresher PA, formerly of Warminster and Hatboro PA, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. She was 87 years old. Carol was the beloved wife of the late Jon A. Katherine with whom she had shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Robert and Emma McMurray.
Carol graduated from Temple University in 1960 and then completed her Master's degree. She became a teacher and taught pre-school and first grade for over 30 years in the Upper Moreland School District. She spent most of that time at Woodlawn Elementary. Carol and Jon enjoyed traveling together around the world and would often spend time with friends playing Bridge and other card games. She loved attending her kids/grandkids sporting events and was a great fan. Carol was also known for her meticulous gardens and the ability to grow beautiful orchids.
Carol is survived by her son Jon R. Katherine, his wife Rose and her daughter-in-law Ida Katherine, four grandchildren, Anna Matos (Norman), Scott, Jon E. and Nicholas. Carol was preceded in death by a son Scott Katherine.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Saturday, November 15th after 10:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro PA and to attend her Memorial Service at 11:00 am. Her interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery, Ambler PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's name may be made to the Hatboro Library, 243 S. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040.
