Carolyn Gay Barrett Escue, age 61, passed away Saturday morning, August 31, 2024, at her home in Humboldt.
She was born in Fontana, CA, the daughter of the late Raymond Woodward Barrett and Kathline Joy Ward Barrett.
She enjoyed the beach and vacationing in Florida. She liked to “live life” and enjoyed visiting family in Wyoming. She had an outgoing personality and could talk to everybody. She was a very good and loving grandmother who was affectionally called, “G.G.”.
She is survived by her husband Kevin Lee Escue of Humboldt, a son Shawn Smith and wife Christine, a daughter Brandy Smith, five grandchildren, and three brothers: Keith Raymond Barrett, David Olinger, and Brian Olinger.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis or the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Nashville.
A celebration of life service will be 4:00 PM Friday, September 6th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Tim Escue and Keith Escue officiating.
The family will receive friends at East Main beginning at 3:00 PM on Friday.
